Will My Words Live On

Riddle me this:  Long after I'm dead and gone

I'm asking you will my words live on?

Will a new generation peruse my body of work

Or will my words end up in a cylindrical file with absolutely no

perks.

I guess I'm asking will my body of work live on long after my physical body ceases to writhe and heave,Can someone please tell me if poetry lovers will seek out my words after I no longer breathe? Will I leave behind a legacy of rhymes, playful banter and soul searching sonnets? Will readers know that I've written poems about everything and everyone underneath the sun from Michael Jackson to Monique and her stance on women going outside in public places with no bonnets? Will readers know that I started writing poetry after I read historian and poet Dudley Randall's Ballad Of Birmingham? Will they know that I wrote a poem about growing up in Cabrini Green entitled 'I Know Who I Am'?Will they know that I wrote poems about Black History and Tupac Shakur,Will they know that I wrote a poem called 'Use Your Words' about the Will Smith/Chris Rock debacle which was just unadulterated and pure...Well, I digress, somehow I got off the beaten path, yep, my bad y'all I went into left field for a minute, boy was I completely gone. But  again, please riddle me this long after God calls my name... I'm asking will my words live on?
